Karamazoff Bike was formed in Vladivostok, Russia in 1990 by two Far Eastern University students - Markus (guitar, songwriting) and Bon (vocal, guitar, harp, accordion, balalaika, songwriting). The first line-up was completed few months later after Buben (drums) and Bruce (bass) joined the duo.The first album "The Lullaby for a Bastard Child" (tape, no label) was sung in english (as the three following ones) and influenced by King Diamond as well as King Crimson, Jethro Tull and others 70's prog-rockers. The second album "The Train Is Gone" (tape, no label) found KB with new bassist/chellist (Elf) and new style which was dubbed "patchwork quilt" - the global eclectic mix from traditional russian melodies to delta blues to 60's psychedelia to punk to indie-rock. The next album "I don't Remember How To Call It" was the same kind but much hippier. In 1993 KB took a journey to St. Peterburg to record their fourth album "Jemma De Light" (tape, no label/ CD 1996) on famous Melodia Studio with famous russian musician and producer Yuri Morozov. "Jemma De Light" sounds raw, dirty and extremely (long live fuzz-box!!!) and filled with garage-punk-blues influences. The next big event for the band was Vladi-rock-stock Festival in native Vladivostok where KB shared stage with some russians rock-legends (Aquarium, DDT) and american stars (Supersuckers, Goodness). After that perfomance KB was invited to take a part in North-by-Northwest Festival (Portland, Oregon). But, because of visa-problems, the special trip was canceled. In 1997 KB desided to write songs in russian. The result were two self-released albums "Karamazoff Bike" (1998, 120 MC-copies) and "1969" (1999, 150 MC-copies). "1969" dedicated to the first lunar expedition. At the moment KB is cosidered as one of the most respectable indie-bands of Russian Far East and one of the most wanted unsigned bands of whole Russia. RUBL (the russian analogue of UBL) describes Karamazoff Bike as a hidden treasure of russian rock music.
